well I just did post 100 and I got my star with a number 3 in it. what does that mean? i know it's pretty low ranked as 10 seems to be the star to strive for. why did i get a 3? I think it's the lowest I've seen thus far .. sux to be me I guess. what can i do to raise it? any ideas will be appreciated. what stars did you guys get at you 100th posts? did it go up or down since?

Yeah 100 posts that you responded to , or started and have been responded on. you have 69 now so 31 more. Keep it up it wont be long before you have a start too, and the higher quality posts will get your star higher ranked like 8 9 and 10.

make quality posts and stay away from the kids, they tend to rate everyone that does not agree with them negatively. I don't like this rating system at all I think it sucks and there is so much room for abuse. I wrote to the powers that be about it to see if it could be changed but I got no response from them.

I see and can understand about the kids, there is room for abuse in anything. Maybe they just couldn't get to it or deem it less important cause maybe they are being flooded with those kind of emails. Thank you for your response.

The number on your star is 6, not 3. And, 6 isn't low for a beginner. Infact its quite a good start. You can increase the number on your star by starting & responding to quality discussions and avoiding one liners. Always try to make your posts of 3-5 or more lines, but not too lengthy also that nobody would be interested to take out time to read it.
The more + people would rate your posts & discussions, the more would be your star number & vice-versa with - so its always better to avoid negative kind of discussions where many people rate a response - when its against them or their opinions.
Last but not least, always tag all the discussions you start as well as respond to with relevant keywords.

Don't worry about stars - I have looked at your activity and it seems perfectly fine.
All you have to do is make sure your posts are relevant and your star rating should go up. You will find though that some people will mark down just cos they can, and also if you disagree with a poster they will mark you down even if your view is perfectly valid

ah good point on the marking down and such. I'm not too worried about the star but yeah i was hoping for something better than a 3, but i dont take it as a reflection of who I am so it's all good. thanks for the response it is encouraging indeed :)

That is great. I really miss seeing you here and answering your discussions. I am sorry that it took me so long to get to this one. I have a ton of them in my email inbox to respond to right now. I am really working hard to reply to all of my friends. You were doing really well here and I hope you decide to come back with us and post more discussions. I had a blue star when I got to 100 posts. I am now red. The number insode is how people have rated you. I do not know why it is a 3. Mylot members must not be rating you very well. That is awful. Some people here do not rate at alll also. I rate you and like your discussions.

I see that you are now a red star at Mylot. That is more like it. I am so glad to see that. I rated you again and I sure hope it helps you to get to the blue star. I like to help all of my friends here if I can.
