Every rose has it's thorn! Great song by Bret Michaels! Listen to it! Seriously though, I'd say it's all the heartache and sadness you can feel when in love. The arguing, the fighting you have with your love. All that stuff that goes with it.

The thorns are the bills you have to pay, the differences in opinions, the family that may not like you, the different faiths and beliefs that you might have. Basically there ar different thorns for each and every relationship.

If love is a rose, the thorns are the trials/obstacles/hindrances/hardships/difficult times/ petty quarrels/misunderstandings in a relationship. These what makes the relationship strong though and these will be tests along the way on how you will handle such just to prove each other how much you love each party or how far will you go for love.

Every beautiful flower has thorns aroun it. It means every true and pure love faces difficulties. But your love must be pure and true.
As you can see Romeo Juliet's love story. Their love was pure and they faced difficulties in their life.
I will say love is flower and thorns are difficulties in its way.
