A farmer died. He had 17 cows. And he had 3 sons Before his death he gave instructions how those cows should be divided.
He divided them as follow:
1/2 was for his eldest son
1/3 for his middle son
1/9 for his youngest son
how will they do this.
Note cows have to be alive have they are divided.
1/2 cow does not exist. Have fun

Hello wiifreepoints7!
You just have to take the LCM and then divide according to it and the problem would be solved. Like the LCM of three fractions here would be 18. Now divide each part according to this number and when you will add all the shares you will get number 17. So, you will not have to cut a cow for dividing in that ratio.
The eldest son will get 9 cows.
The middle son will get 6 cows.
The youngest son will get 2 cows.
Adding these will make 17!
