Test of time

The original trilogy was well ahead of it's time in terms of effects and as such still looks good today.
However do you think in 20 years we'll be talking about the 3 prequels in the same terms?
The strength of the original trilogy was that the story didn't rely on the effects so they were used sparingly. Can't say the same about the newer films. Will Jar JAr Binks really stand the test of time?

I think in a way they will.
thing is, we grew up with the original films, and now there's children who grew up with the new ones. and they'll probably always love the new ones in the same way, we'll always love the old ones. which are flawed, poorly scripted, and really quite naff and cheesy, but utterly charming and full of nostalgia.
although The Phantom Menace was pretty dreadful.

I hate to say it. But I don't think so. I LOVE THE ORIGINAL. But in many ways am disappointed by the prequels. As for JarJar, I think it reminds me of Saturday Morning cartoons. I am sure there are those who will disagree with me.

I often wonder if it's is the highly opinionated forums, message boards, etc, that hurt these movies. Now, while I could have done without Episode 1 focusing on kid Anakin, I don't think 2 and 3 were so bad. I enjoyed them, and find each to be sepcial in it's own way.
