Im sick of hearing that mcdonalds is the reason for obesity in america. thats stupid. Fat lazy americans need an excuse for the way they are instead of looking in the mirror they pass the blame. Mcdonalds is no more fattening then eating at home if your eating the same thing. I guarantee if you eat fried chicken sandwiches with mayo and then you fry some french fries up and eat that everyday at home your gonna gain just as much weight as eating it at mcdonalds, applebees i dont care. Mcdonalds maybe quicker but its your choice. so quit making excuses for your poor choices in diet and exercise.

Well I agree with what you say about McDonalds. I think that if eat well and in moderations and you do exercise then you can do good. I'm a tiny weensy bit overweight and I've always excercised but then I would stuff myself with junk food. But I'm not lazy and i've recently learned how to eat in moderations.

Aside from certain illnesses which make you gain weight the only reason people are gaining weight is because they eat all the wrong things and dont exercise.
Unless there is something medically wrong with you that you gain/cant loose weight I think it no one elses fault but your own we all chose what we put in our mouths and eat if its all fatty fried unhealthy foods and no exercise you are bound to gain weight
That said fast food places which make the food readily available dont help but people make the choice to eat there and any other fast food place

your right and i shouldve made clear some people do have diseases that prevent them from losing weight.
also ive actually lost weight eating at mcdonalds everyday its what were choosing to eat. you can eat a side salad with balsamic dressing, two things of apple dippers with out the caramel and a fruit parfait for only 250 calories thats alot of food for hungry people and hardly any calories. so your rights its all about looking at what we are putting in our mouths.

I don't think McDonald will make us fat too. In fact McDonald have so much pepper on the ingredience. This pepper will help digesting and blocking the fat and push it out without staying at the body. hats why i like to eat fast food with pepper powder.
And i think eat too much will caused us fat. Not just McDonald.

I totally agree with you --you are in control of what you put in your mouth. However McDonald's should take some responsibility in making their food healthier.

Mcdonalds has made major changes. Infact their burger i guarantee is leaner than the burger you eat at home.. and go fry some fries or chicken i betcha yours has more trans fat and calories. Today mcdonalds has almost as many healthy choices as they do non just gotta read the menu.

McDonalds does not make you fat, You make yourself fat using McDonalds(or any other fast food place). You can eat bad food but in moderation. When people eat McDonalds every day then thats what's making them fat. The TV makes people fat too. They just sit in front of it with their McDonalds and watch it for hours. Wasting time that could be used for making healthy food at home, or exercising. Also most new inventions seem to make our lives easier which in turn he less active. A good example of this is the car. I do agree that it's now a necessity ot have a car(or pretty darn close), but that's because society have built itself around them.

You can get fat without ever eating mcdonalds. Fat and obesity cannot just be blamed on one place...Its the person's habits and genetics that cause it..even hormone levels.
You could gain just as much eating at a&w everyday or Subway if you arent watching what you eat and your exercise amounts. The only time you can really blame something other than how you eat/what you do or dont do is when you have genetics that are causing the issues OR hormone/gland issues that are causing the weight gain OR inability to lose weight.
Its nto fair to blame just one corporation for the problem.

Yep, it certainly doesn't make you fat I agree.....but it sends you broke if you eat it all the time and isn't as healthy as good cooked food. Don't get me wrong, I love Maccas, especially their McOz burger but if you were eating it everyday...you wouldn't get fat but you wouldn't be eating healthy either!

You got a point there. We should blame others for our own misfortunes (if you will call it that way). We should blame everything to ourselves. For we have our own free will. If wanted to get fat, then it will. But if we don't, then if there is McDo in every corner, then we will not get fat.

The reason that many people say McD is the reason for obesity ,I think , is it has more calories or other ingredients that can bring about fat. But,obviously it's
not the key reason to obesity.Little exercise and long-time siting is the main factor to fat.

And I am so tiredof skinny p;eople talking about fat lazy americans when they do not even bother to find out why we are overweight in the first place. we are not all lazy and we do not all eat at fast food joints and we do not all even like MacDonalds to begin with. some of us are diabetics who take medications to lower our blood sugar and often in fact a lot of the time these same meds cause weight gain. so do not say all overweight amereicans are lazyjust because we are overweight. a lot of us exercise like crazy and still find it hard to lose a lot in any one month. and yes we do know we are fat or overweight to put it a bit more nicely. how could we not know. we are not blind nor stupid. we do look in the mirror and we do also not like what we see but we also get angry at those who call us lazy.We do not make excuses but we do try to tell you slim people our facts and our facts are there for anyone to read about if they just will. and no a lot of us do not make poor food choices as we have a meal plan given to us by our health care team and we do know how to eat healthy also given to us by our health team. so easy to critize when you do not really know why a certain person is indeed overweight. so ask the person next time do not just judge or assume. there my rant for the day i am not lazy nor stupid nor do i eat out very often.

i understand some people have problems that makes them retain their weight or gain weight. i stated that on the first page. I am specifically talking about the people that eat at mcdonalds everyday and blame them. couple years ago mcdonalds was sued because someone at mcdonalds everyday and gained extreme amounts of weight.

my health plan is lots of veggies and fruits and lean lo fat meats and dairy pluswhole grains and we can only eat so manycarbs a day based on our weight loss goals so yes we diabetis almost all of us do know how to eat properly but it takes time to lose and meanwhile we get sick of slim people constantly goingoff about fat lazy people who do not know how to eat properly or exercise properly. give us a break here.

I know that McDonalds is not the problem, since people are choosing to eat that food, therefore choosing to gain weight. But, it is not helping the problem, since everywhere you turn there is a McDonalds rather than a store for a healthy alternative.

i completely agree, they are putting the blame on them for making food that they buy with there own money and they have a choice whether on not to buy it.

Even unhealthy food (like McDonalds or home made burgers) can have a place in a heathy diet... as long as that is not the only thing we eat.
I had a friend in high school who had a medical condition that caused her to be obese. It was inherited from her mother. I always surprised me how little she ate. I even stayed at her house a couple of times and her appetite at home was the same. They didn't even keep junk food in the house (like potato crisps, snack bars etc).
Another friend of mine as as an adult was similar... only ate small amounts but was still obese because her metabolism was so efficient that every bit of nutrient was extracted from everything she ate where in the case of most people around half the nutrients we ingest pass through untouched... in her case it was about 10%. This was according to her doctor. The only way she could have lost weight was to go on a vegetarian diet and eat nothing but salads (without salad dressings, cheese or anything fattening)... of course, to do that she would have had to take lots of vitamins and also protein supplements to make sure that her body had all the nutrients it required without the calories.
The fact is that we are all very different... yes, eating fatty foods would be the major cause of obesity... but not the only one and 'fast food' is certainly NOT the only source of fatty foods. In general these days, most of us consume too many calories and don't get enough excercise.
