All of these 16 and older kids came to my house trick or treating tonight and no costumes or anything, and they expected me to give them candy... I don't think so. I told them I was sorry and have a good night. Was I wrong to have done that?

I know last year when I took my kids trick or treating there were a lot of teens out there. They were actually gettn candy to. I guess some people dont turn them down because they are still kids.

The younger teenagers, I gave candy to, but it was the ones that looked to be 18 and over that I rejected. Hardly none of the children had costumes on this year.

I think you were brave to have done it. With older kids that brazen I might have worried about vandalism or other retaliation in response. I didn't get anyone that old, but I was slightly annoyed by a group who appeared to be in their early teens. They did have costumes on but they didn't say a single word at my door, they just held out their bags. I said to one of them, "Don't you want to even go through the motions of saying the words?" and I got 3 blank stares in return. "Trick or treat?" I elaborated. They said that they weren't interested in tricks, only treats. I gave them candy but I would have preferred to have skipped it, cause I didn't like their attitude about the whole thing.
