I don't think its more than a personal preference. If you love someone and want to marry them - thats enough. If you start putting criteria in place then you'll kill loads of good relationships. Once you share the same values, are prepared to make the committment and are in love - why not ? You cannot predict your life. You cannot predict the future. No matter how you try predictions and estimates fail by the zillion. So if you're in love, you're probably there. Its worth taking the risk. Its for happiness.

Moni,
Being truly in love is one of the factors certainly. But, I feel, more than that, its important to have mutual respect and understanding. Without the respect for the partner it gets very diluted. Love alone cannot survive a marriage. I have practical experience.
You take care, hun.

If you are truly in love then age is a secondary factor and religion also andas for looks give me a break as a person who married strictly on looks is a diseaster waiting to happen as people do age and do change and the hunk gets a pot or gray hair or some wrinkles and the doll gets cellulete and gains a few pounds and gravity takes over so now what do they do: probably divorce and look for some other hunk or doll. If you really love someone than nothing else matters much.
