What time is dinner?

Everyone is different when it comes to what time dinner should be,and when you say dinner is at so and so time does that mean thats when you will start or it will be served?
I have always did dinner like 5-5:30 and when i say dinner is at that time thats the time I will or a little before.

Your dinner time is earlier than ours. I do not start making dinner until 6:30 so we typically have dinner around 7:00-7:30 but it may be as late as 8:30 depends if I am busy or not. Like yesterday I was doing laundry till 8pm so we ate a little after that. But I would like to try making dinner earlier so I can relax at night, yes, that would be a good idea. My problem is I get lazy and wait till the sun sets to cook dinner.
