Who Handles The Finances In Your Home?

My husband pays all the bills. But we sit down together to work out the budget. So really it is more of a joint effort.

I handle the money in my family. I used to do it when I was single but when I got married I guess I got tired of being responsible. Now I'm back to taking care of stuff, since I'm a stay at home dad I wanted to take that burden from my wife, she works and provides for the family away from home, I work in the home and take care of the other stuff. Finances are always a touchy subject between couples, I think that marriage counselors should talk about money plus how many kids the couple wants to have. Money is the biggest issue in most disagreements.

in our house, i'ts my mother who handles the finances..eventhough, the two of them are working my mother and my mother but still it's my mother who takes care of the finances, she pay for everything and also i give my part because i'm already working..

Here in Germany, most companies would deposit your salary direct to your account at the end of the month . Both my husband and I are working and we do have separate accounts for this matter. We decided to split the expenses. Since he earns more, he pays most of the bills (house, mobile phones, insurances, grocery) and me the lesser ones (internet and phone, heating and electricity) We also have a joint account where we deposit a fix amount monthy to be used for the rainy days. The rest of the money, we are already free to do what we want SEPARATELY ---- he can buy "toys for the big boys" and mine is mostly spend to please my 2 year old daughter.
