How does not having your mom effect your parenting?

My mom died 9 years before I had my first child, I thought I was pretty much through the grief until I had my first baby. My baby is 2 now and I think of my mom almost everyday. I think not having my mom definitely makes me enjoy every single moment I can with my children. My priorities are so much different as I feel so unsure of the future. I sometimes wonder if I spoil my kids or make them more dependent.
