In my opinion witchcraft has no origins. we can trace it back thou , in the Ancient period. In Europe for exemple we have the Greek ancient myths. Some other cultures , in the North part of Europe they have "The Birthplace Of All Sorceries" and the list is long. All these beliefs managed to survive in time through legends and fairy talles.
Why did Christianity considered the old beliefs heresyes?
Where the laws made by the Church too severe on people and their private lives that they were returning to their old gods?
I think they were, and the Church started losing followers...and after that they started killing in the name of God! But were those people really involved in witchcraft?
People sick and tired of vanely begging to the sky ends up addressing to Hell. A witch is a victim of her own religious superstitions. She is a daughter of poverty. She is the hope of the revolted. She is the fruit of the riot against the Church execrated by it and by the civil authority.
Witchcarft is just a word that we asociate with the spiritual enemy.

I believe that if a person doesnt believe in spirits and evil supernatural things , but they believe in god they have obviously misled themselves... when someone sibmits themselves to things such as witchcraft, they are trying to amplify the evil that is already here. i also belive that there are such things as using their personal presence in the people around them.... the bible says if you say what you want and need in life aloud that these things are put into action basically, so in this sense they use things form the bible when they dont get what they pray for to try to recreate ther scripture for their own benefit.... this doesnt hurt anyone but themselves because they are the true believer of their own craft... does this make sense?

Most of the people accused of witchcraft by the church in the old days were women, and the majority were old women. Some of them were deformed or crippled by age.
Many of those accused of witchcraft were wise women who knew how to use herbs as natural medicines to cure ailments. For this they were condemned for witchcraft. Others were just picked on for being poor and old.
Women were also accused for being beautiful and desirable because men thought they had been bewitched when they felt tempted by physical attraction and it was a good excuse for some men if they had been found out to have been with a woman outside marriage!

Witchcraft and witches are great.
These fantasy tales are very good for kids.
They just use their imagination and fly off into a world of their own imagination.

Oh PALEESE!
Everything has an origin. Just because YOU can't identify it, does not mean there is not one.
The word witch comes from the word "witta", which only means simple country folks that lived off the land. And since there have been people from the oldest of times of man, there have been people who have had this type of living style/situation. (We also have not fully pinned down the origin of man? But ..here we are!!)
These people hunt for their foods, or garden..they honor the 4 seasons and sun and moon, because..well, it is easier to hunt meats to feed the family and make sure the kids have food and not have to go to bed hungry in light moons/full ones when the hunter can see better. And the sun cycles and seasons tell us when to plant foods for the family or plants that can be used to heal, and when to harvest or pick them.
There is nothing about witchcraft to do with spiritual enemies. These people do not hurt anyone and their "church" is the entire Earth that helps them care for their familes, etc..Just becasue they make their own medicines, or feed their own families without paying for their foods at a store, it does not mean these people are spiritually bad. It only means they are not wealthy enough to pay for all that you may be able to afford.
They may be outside at night to honor the beautiful moon, because they are watching it to see when certain times fall. And they may honor the sun..because they LOVE their families the same as you love yours and are watching for the best times of day to harvest the plants they eat or use for medicines they make themselves.
Time to take heaven and Hell out of this. This is about people who love their familes and take care of them wihtout being able to afford stores, doctors, etc..Many people in the hollows of west Virginia canot afford those and live off the meats and plants/fruits and veggies they gather in th hills, or from their gardens. You may not call them witches..but that's the life they live.
GOD gave them the plants and meats to live off of. HE would not consider a person who lives a natural life bad or evil and neither do YOU have a right to. Try following the commandments..especially the one that says not to JUDGE!
These people may to be close enough to go to a church and may not have a car to. But it does not make them bad or evil. They are a "witta" here in the United States, because they have no option but to live of the land. It is a matter of them knowing thier neighbors, lighting a candles (called a spell, but it's still a prayer to send healing energy) to someone they know is sick.
You know..maybe the real bad people are those that do not care that 1 percent of the population here has almost ALL of the money, while others starve? THAT is evil. You talk about Hell? Who the HELL are you to break the commandments you say tyou follow and JUDGE these people that are only trying to make it through hard times and survive? HOW POMPOUS!
No..I do not see them as the evil ones. Bless their hearts..they hav a better chance of getting to heaven than most of us. (I don't know what church you go to or who your pastor is..but I can see they are not teaching/leading well their "flock.")These witches/wittas are not hurting anyone. Keep this in mind..ojne day you may be poor and have to learn to get YOUR own foods and make your own medicines to survive. And then you will be a witch, like it or not.
Please try to think before you become offensive.
By the way..notice in your Bible that the Witch of Endor was CALLED to the king to ask a question ot a person who had passed away. HE called her to him. And she did this for him. But when the spoiled king did not get the answer he wanted he balmed HER for what he should not have done anyway..and it was only THEN he made the commenbt that "A witch should not be suffered to live." (He loved her before. But when he didn't get what his spoiled behind wanted..THEN he condemned her. If the spirit of the person who had passed HAD told him what he wanted..he would have been praising her and putting her on the payrolls! THINK!)
