This morning while we were sitting in our conservatory having a cup of tea we saw a couple of wrens keep disappearing into a climbing plant we have up against the kitchen wall. This plant has been in a few years now so has grown rather bushy so we think there is nest building in progress. The wrens must have gone into the bush about a dozen times in all.
Do you get any birds nesting in your garden and if so what types?

I haven't seen any birds nesting, I know we have a squirrel that nests in one of the trees.
We have a lot of cats here so that scares them away

We've had two different nests built very low in some evergreen bushes by our deck. The first time it was built by a Robin, it was nice to watch her building and then to see the eggs (I think there were two). We would watch through our binoculars. Then came the babies, feedings, etc. Really nice to see.
The next next was not so much fun because it was built by a family of Blue Jays. They tormeneted our poor cat day and night, the cat never went near their nest but soon we would let him out they would start dive-bombing him. Hopefully no more Blue Jays build their nests that close to our house again.

we get robins in our garden but they have never nested with us although one year a baby robin did live in our garden. We were worried in case a cat got him but they never did. His favourite place was to sit in our greenhouse on the water pipe

so soon perhaps your wrens will be having some little wrens.such lovely harbingers of spring. we have black birds, and crows that nest in our trees and robinns and tons of mockingbirds too. but my favorite is a little emerald green humming bird with a bright ruby throat who dined on our rosy hawthorne bushes. A robin family has just shown up in a tree in our front yard here in our apartment complex.

your hummingbird sounds lovely I would love to see him.
The wrens are still in and out of the climber with bits in their beaks so am assuming they are still building but they must be finished soon. Lets hope they use the nest now they have spent so much effort on building it
