The oldest , the most profound, the most universal of all symbols is the human body. The Greeks , Persians, Egyptians and Hinus considered a philosophical analysis of man's triune nature to be an indispensable part of ethicatl and religious training. Philosophers turned their attention from God to the man himself. The universe was regarded as a man and , conversely, man a miniature universe: universe=macrocosmos and the man=microcosmos. The pagan mysteries were primarily concerned the relationship between the two. Long before the intorduction of idolatry into religion, the early priests placed a statue of a man in the sanctuary of the temple . Studying the microcosmos they learned to understand the greater mysteries of the macrocosmos of wcich they were a part. Then came the age of idolatry. the mysteries daecayed and the secrets were lost so no one knew the identity of the mystreious man who stood over the altar. It finalyy came to be looked upon as a god: the One in whose image man was made. Having lost the knowledge of the purpose for which the mankind was originally constructed , the prieste worshiped this effigy until at last their lack of spiritual understanding brought the temple down to ruins and the statue crumbled with the civilization that had forgotten it's meaning. Proceeding from this assumption that man was the image of god, initiated minds built the structure of theology upon the foundation of the human body. The religious world of today is almost totally ignorant of the fact that science of bilogy is the fountainhead of its doctrines. Many of the codes and laws believed by modern divines to have been direct revelations from Divinity are in real the fruitage of ages of patient delving into the intricacies of the human constitution and the infinite wonders revealed by such a study. The philosophers of antiquity realized that man himself was the key to the riddle of life.

The philosophers of antiquity realized that man himself was the key to the riddle of life. Are you sure about that now? As far as I am concern... man is just another animal. We have all the basic instincts of other animals as soon as we stop using our brain. We did use our brain to construct an artificial civilise world... but it is a fragile world. If you remove authority to enforce those artificial laws... within 24 hours the whole world collapse in anarchy and returns to the law of the jungle. We see it time and time again in war and natural disasters when law enforcement lose its infrastructure and people take to the street... and everything goes.
