Why I denied a friend request.

I usually deny very few people, as we need all the friends we can get. However, after looking at this person's profile, I saw that they hadn't started any discussions nor answered any! They had a website that supposedly taught people how to make money online. They have been a member for 8 days now.
I remember when I first joined I answered discussions on day one. I just got a funny feeling that this person wasn't interested in any discussions and was just trying to get people to sign up at his/her site. Seemed a little fishy to me.
Do you think I am being paranoid? Would you become a friend to someone such as this?

I think Hubby got the same invitation. He was telling me the other day that someone sent him a friend request who had no discussion started and none replied to and had just a link to a make money site. He denied him.

You have a right feeling about that member.
Some people are here just to spam friends PM with recruiting messages.
Mylot is about discussions not about number of friends.
Take care,
HUGS

Hi pola. Having discussions is why I am here. The reason I accept or invite friends is usually based on the discussions they have started or answered. Although, there are some that have good discussions, same interests and live in my state or near my home, such as you, that I am glad I have as my friend.
Thank you.
PEACE

I don't think you're being paranoid...that really sounds like someone who might be planning to get as many "friends" as possible in order to spam them via private messaging. Of course, it's impossible to know someone's intention when they friend you; that's why I'm glad I've never felt the need to decline any friend request so far. I'd probably have done just what you did in that particular situation.
