Since the start of the new incentive program, where we get 50% of our referrals earnings instead of the usual 25% until May 31st, I have been working hard, looking for ways to increase my referrals.
I have found one site that does that for me, and has a system where I can make sure to only get the active referrals (If you want to know more, see this discussion: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1469463.aspx ) Since signing up to this program I have gotten one referral a day since I started using it four days ago.
I am still looking for ways to boost my referrals (But no links please). Tell me MyLot, how are you getting referrals?

I do not really understand all this referral thing, I have only recently started to use the computer to look for ways to earn a little extra money and so I do not yet know all the ins and outs of things. I have picked a bit up on here actually by reading discussions, but it is all still a bit beyond me!!

Referrals for any site are people that you invite to join the site using your referral URL. (You ref url for here is located at the bottom left hand side of every screen in Mylot) There is usually a bonus when you get referrals for a site, if its an earning site, you get a percentage of their earnings for yourself. Here, you get 50% of everything your referral earns. You don't have to do anything with them after they sign up, but you get paid for having them sign up. Does this explain it?

Yes I think I get it thanks! I guess it is something that I should look into, especially if it fetches more money in.

Well I've had a link up on my website since I first received payout here. I have my website up in web competitions to help get traffic to it. With the new fliers though I added one to each topsite that I run. Don't know if they are helping any but it's a start. I' going to be looking into the one place you mentioned in your post. Other then that I really don't do much to find referrals.

Luck has nothing to do with it, Pit. Its about constant promotion in the right places. One thing people have to learn is to never stop getting referrals, if that is the way you want to earn. You never know when someone is going to drop off the face of the planet, or join then find that this isn't for them. If you constantly add referrals, you will eventually find some that are active.

i tried getting referrals before but now i just shrug it off and i just let myself do the work because the ones who signed up below me just simply dropped off after a few discussions and no one seems to be interested. could you kindly pm as to how you get good referrals?

I have a program that has been working wonders for me in getting active referrals. I don't want to send you the ref link just yet, because I want to make sure this is a program that you would like to join. Read this discussion here:
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1469463.aspx
and if you are interested, send me a message. I will reply with the url.

I just picked up another one yesterday. I don't really do a whole lot to promote mylot. I have a blog and two websites. I have other programs on there besides mylot . I use traffic exchanges and I have my blog and website on my signature on a forum I visit. That's about it. Maybe I should be promoting it more now.

Maybe you should check this discussion out. Its how I've gotten 7 referrals in the past week for MyLot. You can promote any program you can think of there. Here is the link to the discussion:

Leave a response there if you would like more information.

Hello,
Just like you I've been looking for ways to get some referrals. I've been using some free traffics and other social networks to socialize with others. It's a good thing that you get 1 referral a day. I hope that I can be as successful as you.

Don't be discouraged. I have a ref that I got a year ago, and they still haven't posted once!!! The way to do it is to keep looking for referrals. That way you have a bigger chance of getting someone that will be active. Just continuously promote your ref link. The good refs will come eventually.

I have given up trying to get referrals hun, I have only one who has been completely inactive. These days I am quite happy to start discussions and post responses here. I simply don't seem to have the time to chase after referrals these days :-)

Darren, you don't want to post your links directly in the discussion. This can get the whole discussion deleted, and make some members pretty mad at you. Like I told you before, you want to start a discussion explaining the site, don't mention the name, don't put the url. You ask the people to add you as a friend if they want more information, then you send them the url in a message.
Gawd I hope this doesn't get deleted.

The reason they haven't responded is that you can't make a MyLot friend a referral. A referral must join the site through your ref link, and these people have already joined.
Also, if you meant that you were promoting other sites in the PMs, you probably didn't get a response because most people don't like getting links in their PM box. Please don't take offense, but this is another form of spam since they didn't request your link. The best way to get referrals for other programs in MyLot is to make a discussion about the certain program. Explain the program thoroughly, but don't give the name of the program or the ref url in the discussion. Create some curiosity, then have them send you a message about it. Trust me, you will have a better response!!!
