Do you recycle the toilet paper roll?

A few months ago, I decided to try to make a better effort at recycling. While changing the toilet paper roll in the bathroom one day, I realized that usually I just toss the cardboard cylinder into the bathroom trash. Now I take it out of the bathroom and put it in with the recyclables.
Why can't they make toilet paper rolls that have seeds embedded in them so you could plant the rolls? Wouldn't this help offset the "carbon footprint" that toilet paper makes?
So...do you recycle your toilet paper rolls? What else do you recycle?

My partner and I both make sure that the toilet roll tubes go into the recycling, together with all the other paper and cardboard. Every little bit helps

Now there's one I haven't done. But it sounds like something to think about. I do recycle but for some reason I've always thrown away the toilet paper and paper towel rolls. I'll be sure to add them to the recycle bin. I also recycle paper, tin cans. But now I realize everything has to recycle.

I'm finding a lot of things can be recycled where I usually just tossed them before. It's a fun challenge!

yeah ,seeing your question i realized one thing, for students in school,we should do something to help the environment, for example ,we could use less handkerchiefs to save the sources, instead ,we can use some other things,it needs everybody to take action.

Good point about the schools needing to be more involved!

Ladies, I use the toilet paper rolls to throw away the used "monthly's". Being in a family of men, they all asked me to do something more acceptable rather than just wrap it back in the little pink plastic bags that the pads come in and stuffing it at the bottom of the trash can. I had to admit that I didn't realize that it bothered them all that much. Maybe they hate pink?...lol

Ok, to be completely candid. I think the men who live in your household need to "get over it". Recycle the those toilet paper tubes instead. And if they get on your case, let them know that you are making a constructive effort to not create more waste & ask them what they've done lately. Seriously, I can't believe some guys are so squeamish over this stuff. It's ridiculous. And if it's still a big deal, just get one of those trash cans with a lid so they don't have to see it. Although if you've already been hiding them at the bottom of the trashcan, I have to say that I wonder what they are doing digging in the trash to look for it. If they keep pushing the issue, I would just start focusing on things like maybe their refusal to put the toilet lid down or light a match after a #2 or the streakmarks left on the underwear you probably end up washing for them. Just a thought.

Yes, I recycle the toilet paper and paper towel rolls along with my other cardboard boxes from food, toys, etc. I do take some of the rolls to work (I work as a preschool teacher) so the kids can use them in their artwork, which I guess is another way of recycling them. Anything I can recycle I do recycle. Our town has a great curbside recycling program as well as a town recycling center for everything else they don't pick up at the curb. Everytime I go to the recycling center there are cars lined up out the driveway to get in. It's a great site to see!

I try to, but I'm the only person in the house who cares, so if I'm not the one who changes the roll, it usually just gets thrown away. I try to recycle anything I can. My city does recycling, so I don't have to physically take it anywhere, so there's no excuse not to. Sometimes I feel like my brother is actually against recycling. He always throws everything away. The bin is right next to the garbage, but no; he won't have it. lol. I always nag him, but it has no effect.
