In India, which is the biggest democratic country, or for that matter in nay country, is it right to give this much amount of reservation to a particular group of people? The Supreme Court has just nodded to this bill with a few amendments and the politicians say that it is a win win statement. Can anybody explain that to me? I just can't stand this. What do you feel about reservation in different domains?

Everything should be based on merit. If helping the OBC's is the issue, it should be done financially.

So simple, isn't it. Thanks for the response but don't you think that then there will be new rules laid for recognizing the OBC people.

What I meant was that admission should be based on merit. Only the students with the required percentage should be given admission. If an OBC gets the required percentage, he should be given financial support i.e his fees should be less.

Well its a very sensitive issue to be discussed. Every person has his own views and its respected then only comments should be asked to be made...... what do you say?

I don't think so. There should not any kind of differentiation between two people specially when we can't even think of the reason. Let me say this with an example. Suppose I am going to give CAT exam. Now after securing 98-97% marks if I don't have a berth secured then why should a person with 90-92% marks have a seat. Only because many decades ago some one from his family of whom he dose not know the name used to polish king's shoes while someone from my family would carry out prayers for the same king.

If you think personally its fine. When you take the development of the whole country its indeed necessary for all the people to be educated..... Just think in a broader sense..... Let the under privileged get the opportunity...

I don't think its a good decision by the Supreme Court. The reservations must to them who need them.the student studying at IIM's doesnot need a reservation because he is not backward. A student going for a IIM then u think he is a backward. I don't think so because he had avery good Knowledge then how he is abackward.
