I have had cats in the past that have gone missing for maybe a week or more, usually they turn up after that time. I recently had my cat go missing though, he has been missing for about 8 weeks or so now and there has been no sign of him at all, we have put posters up, been to the vets, searched for him everywhere, no sign. I do not think that he is going to come back now, I just wish I knew what had happened to him, it is horrible not knowing.

It is hard, I know how she is feeling, it is one of the reasons I will not have anymore.

Yes.I searched for him but he was never found. He was such a darling.Remembering that I had him makes me cry.His name is Sam by the way.I'm not hoping anymore to find him because that happened 2 yrs ago so I guess it's already hopeless.

this sounds silly, but if any of your neighbors have garages that close, ask them.
one of my cats disappeared for a while and turned up exactly there.as soon as they opened the door, out he came.

I had this male cat about 20 years ago and he hated being inside. One night he didn't come home. I searched for weeks for him and no sign. I had given up on ever seeing him again. Then one night I was watching TV and I heard a noise at the window and looked out and there he was. He walked in like he had never left the place. Never give up hope, I hope he is fine and will come home to you.

Oh well, that is really sad to hear. But hey, cats can go astray as much as dogs do as well. Especially when they are young, they tend to go round the neighborhood and, among the many possibilities, they won't be able to find their way back home. I am sorry about that.
But don't loose hope. I had a cat before, he got lost for more than a year, only to return to our home one day, and, well, left a few days later and never came back.
I mean, that is sad as well. But you see, there may be reasons why the cat won't come home, either a company or a lot more benefits at the other homes of the neighborhood. And even if it is lost, you bet they are gonna take care of themselves all right. It does not take away the sadness of having lost a treasured pet though. And I am sorry for that.

As a matter of fact, Cuddles, a cat that my sister initially gave me on a loan has disappeared. My oldest son would leave his bedroom window open (we live on ground level) and the cat would go out of the window, but for the past 3 days, the cat has been gone and I am afraid that the cat may have ran away with the other stray cats from my neighborhood. I feel really bad because my sister was helping me out and I ended up falling for the cat so it's like a double wammy. I still look out of my kitchen window hoping to see it. I hope it comes back.

Our cat went missing for a while before - he turnt up with a broken leg :( He then went out and broke it again after he had let it heal.
My stepdad had a cat when he was younger and it went missing for 6 months, they thought it had gone forever but it turnt back up, unhurt. They don't know where it went to though! So fingers crossed your cat is just gone on a little detour. Keep hoping and keep looking and keeping it fresh it everyones mind :) If you haven't already, what about some missing posters? They are good for people to keep themselves vigilant.
