Do you use ebay's "blog" feature?

I've mentioned in other discussions I've started, that I am trying to build an eBay business. I've been a casual member of the site for years, but now I want to invest some time & effort into creating a store that (hopefully) will allow me to earn a portion of my overall income. I've been poking around eBay, learning more about features I haven't used in the past, and I came across their blog feature. I've kept a personal online journal for ages, so I have a pretty good idea how blogs work. What I'm wondering is how well do the work on ebay? If you're a regular shopper or seller on ebay, do you make use of this function? Has it increased your sales? Or if you're a buyer, does it help you make a final decision about making a purchase?

I have used it, but not really enough to do much with it and I no longer have an Ebay store. I do have a couple of ideas to share with you...ideas I wish I was aware of when I did have the store. They might have helped me locate potential customers.

I am also starting an ebay business as I just opened a new store this month. I am not sure of how the blog works there and I don't have a blog anywhere else as I have never done one before. I would like to get into doing one but I am unsure of what I need to do to start one.
I don't see how it would help your business,but I guess if there isn't a lot of charge for it,then it might be worth a try.

Well the idea in a nutshell is that you can talk more about the items your selling, more about yourself and generate interest in your auctions by basically making friends with other bloggers. I don't know that it will have a huge impact on your bottom line, but it's a free method of getting your ebay listings seen by more potential customers. I went ahead & started one today. It's super easy to do, no harder than posting here at MyLot.

I am an Ebay seller too but I haven't used Ebay's blog feature. One reason is because I already have a blog hosted somewhere. I also think that it might be a good idea to create a blog outside Ebay to encourage non-Ebay users to visit your site or Ebay in general. Who knows they might end up as Ebayers thru your blog. I also think that since one purpose of blog is to promote your Ebay items, then why promote it inside the Ebay portal? I have also looked at the blog portal and I think it is not that visually appealing as compared to an Ebay blog opened in other free sites like blogger or wordpress. Just my thought.
