How many of you have thrown a party at home where you buy things?

Candles - I love candles, I've even had a candle party before.

I know the feeling well. I am a Watkins Associate and have tried two different Good Tastings events here at home without success. (Good Tastings is Watkins' party plan) The hostess rewards are fantastic but I can't seem to find a single person to hostess a party. I think a lot of people are "partied out". Online parties aren't much better because it seems everyone is more interested in selling their products than buying yours. Not really sure what the answer is but would love some suggestions. A 'book' party where you just collect orders is fine but makes it hard for the customers to know about the products first hand.

Well I don't know of how it works there in the States Michele but here in Canada they have a company called "PartyLite" where a representative will come to your house with a bunch of candle displays and books to look through. You and everyone you can invite have to opportunity to make purchases during this time and it usually takes a few weeks for your order to come in..

I have done rings, and it was a success. Also my art work...I cut silhouettes out of people and pets and so forth. Look at my website: www.mgcreativearts.com

I am hosting a Pampered Chef party this week. I love their products so far, I'm new to them. I've been asked to host a candle party but haven't decided yet. What is involved in a candle party?

I have had a couple Pampered Chef parties. I did really well and got about $350 worth of free products. Their stuff is really cool - saddly, I don't have the time to use most of it.

I have had tuperware, stanley home product, and candle partys enjoyed my friends coming over and we had a good time eating and talking.......Also enjoyed the free things I got at the parties but that was the only thing I enjoyed didn't like getting ready for the party because I never really knew what to fix for them to eat....Chips and Dip was great and then one time I got a birthday cake for two friends of mine.......

I love throwing parties. I enjoy the company and getting together with old friends. My husband and I get to unwind and have some fun without trying to find babysitters or having to be home at a certain time. Plus I love entertaining.

I've had numerous Tupperware, Avon, lingerie, Mary Kay and interior decorator parties over the years. The last party I've had was a vacuum cleaner demo with my neighbors. I am partied out - LOL!

Don't invite me, I'm a candleholic, lol. Some of those home parties have some expensive things and I know I don't like to attend some because I feel like I have to buy something, but it's a great reason to invite some friends over and fix some food and have a "girl's night out".

Must admit to being a bit of a party plan junkie years ago.I have held many from Tupperware,UndercoverWear,Postie, to Lorraine Lea Linen. The majority of them were huge successes and I ended up with a lot of free gifts.I have even sold pottery thru party plan and my cousin and I ran our own for a few years selling handmade teddy bears and crafts. That was loads of fun and a great way to meet people.

I used to sale home interior products. I had a party when I was first getting started to that I could pay for my start up kit with the earnings I got from the party. It was fun, I just learned that I am not a good person with sales. I just don't have it in me.

Although I haven't done it in a long time I have thrown a couple. They were for Home Interiors. I love their stuff. They have a lot of nice items and the prices are pretty good. The stuff lasts a long time with them. Now I don't even know a dealer in the area to be able to throw one.

Adult novelty parties are really fun and profittable. I like to be able to meet new people and help them with thier love life.
