Question about Sesshomaru

Even though they have the same father, they have different mothers. Inuyasha came from a human mother while Sesshomaru's mother isn't human.
Sesshomaru despises Inuyasha for the fact that he ain't a pure blood as well as it seems to him that their father favors him more than him, consider the swords that their father left them.
Do enjoy the series as well as the manga

Are they always fighting or do they team up at some point? Sorry for the questions. Just late getting into the series. And is sesshomaru basically good or not.

Hmmm, I never saw them team up at all.. even in one of the movies, they didn't team up. 
Sesshomaru isn't innately bad, if you read on, or watch if you prefer, I really don't want to spoil even a tiny detail of the series so that you would enjoy it, you'll find out why

Sesshomaru hates Inu Yasha because he is just a half demon and Sesshomaru is a full demon but the sword tetsaiga is given to Inu Yasha and not to him, instead tenseiga is the sword that was given to him. The sword of Inu Yasha can finish hundred of demon in one swing and Sesshomaru can bring hundred of life back in one swing that's why he think Inu Yasha sword is much better.

Because Inuyasha's mother is a mortal woman, Sesshomaru considers him impure and not worthy to be his brother. Also, Sesshomaru is frustrated that his father left Inuyasha Tetsusaiga, the most destructive (and therefore the most useful in Sesshomaru's opinion) of the two swords.

Because Inuyasha is not a full blood demon like him. Sesshomarou's mother is also a legendary demon like his father. Inuyasha on the other hand is a son of a human mother.
Also Sesshomarou envys Inuyasha's sword and tries to take it from him claiming that he deserves that sword more than his younger brother.

yea, they are brothers but Sesshomaru's a full pledge demon while Inuyasha's still a half and still their father trusted the sword to Inuyasha. This pisses off Sesshomaru and forced to steal the sword from Inuyasha causes his leaft arm to be severed(or right. lol).

as far as i know, they keep on fighting because of the sword (Tessaiga)that inuyasha have, it's the sword different from what sesshoumaru have,
