Most of the discussions I see in mylot is about Do u like this or that ...or stuff like whats ur favorite... I'm a cluprit of starting some of these threads too.. But honestly, dont u think we should be responding to other sensible posts? I had a bunch of referrals quit becaue they told me that mylot was just garbage...there was no value for the discussions posted. We need to change this. Who is with me??

LOL I agree completely! I am usually skipping over so many questions. I've noticed that there are a LOT of people in India on here... And a lot of other people cannot spell! FYI to users: If you are going to ask a question, please make sure you can spell!

Say it with flowers - The picture is taken at Bangalore Floral show
Mylot has introduced dos and don'ts. I have gone through it. According to that, people use all capital letters for the discussion (I was using till yesterday) will not get any money. I must have made 100 topics with all CAPS. Those who ask questions like Where are you?, Using quiz, starting Poll will not get any points. And be assured you get good topics now onwards.

yeah, i thought we got paid for all pics and was posting like mad.lol. Guess we all need to read rules before we start. But when they modify so much, kind of hard to keep up. But glad those post asking 1 word answer stuff and replying 1 words arent getting paid.People these days want money for nothing huh?

I am with you. I don't know if they change any of the variables. Previously, posting one discussion was $0.03. It might still be the same. Here's the trick: If you post discussion, and someone reply, you get one point. If you post reply, you get one point straight. But if you reply is bad, your points can go backwards. That means quality reply helps, and not starting meaningless discussions.

What may seem insignificant to you may not be insignificant to others.. Asking some questions gives you a broader view of how similar people are despite the difference in culture, language or race. Some people on here are scholars ..some are not. Some people can talk about biotechnology or the stock markets..while others here may not be capable of such topics. One has to realize that as vast is the numbers of cultures that are represented here is also the vastness of education level and interests. WE cannot ask someone who has never attended college or worked on a phd to disourse with us on the latest advancement made by laboratories to arrest the progress of cancer. Mylot is not meant to be a university message board...it is a meeting place of cultures and different backgrounds. People are free here to select whatever topic they want to enter into or not enter into..Let's not impose our personal tastes on others.. If someone likes what we are talking on..they will jump in..if they don't they will jump out..that's what mylot is all about.

I am very tired of seeing the same old topics over and over again. For awhile I tried writing long, intelligent responses to discussions I was really interested in, and that got me no where. You have to continue to post short answers to boring subjects in order to make a few cents in here. mylot is a neat concept, but I'm afraid members are going to burn out quickly.

Like someone said before, we have a majoriy of posters from India and $1 can convert to a lot of money in terms of their currency. So guess what happens...

I think the problem sometimes is that people are so trying to make tons of money on this site that they create pointless topics. Which is a downer because I love talking about things that I have knowledge of that can really get a good discussion going and there are not many postings I can get into on here!

The problem with people not coming in here is partly because of the low earnings and stuff ,some say cannot even pay the electric bills , some say cannot even pay internet bills that kind of things why commit to mylot .

Wow! what kind of people want to try and pay thier bills by chatting? They need to get a JOB. My lot is FUN and they pay you that is even more FUN, but to try and expect to pay your bills by goofing off is rediculous, sorry.

The problem is..... If the postings get really trashy then people will leave. The other thing is that the admin will just say OK and lower the price of the post. So really it is in everyones interest to at least try and post something positive dont you think PS My + and - have gone

i'm with u. i daily run out of good topics to post in. all topics exist like 3 or 4 times... like for example the age or pillows or ghosts are very much used. i vote for me different topics and good ones 2 that are worth answering.

I am with you on this 1 as well!! I just get tired of repeat questions, most of which don't make sense as they won't type out the words or can't type in english. I noticed 1 person the other night, started a discussion - "how many discussions you start daily?" They said they started at least 25 a day! I was like -WHAT?! And when I checked the profile, they were all about 5 different topics, about the same things, just worded differently every time! I haven't posted much these past few days, as I have looked thru and didn't find anything interesting.. until now! THANK YOU for others at least seeing what I have been seeing the last couple weeks!

As someone said, those posts get responses. The serious posts get ignored. I started a thread on the usefulness of the UN. No one has responded. Yet, everyone responds to "what is your favorite color." You want to have more meaningful discussions. Start them and respond to those who do. If enough people do this, it will take over from the stupid questions.
