ahm, can you state what kind of sect are they? US doesn't have any issues on religious freedom. it just that its against the LAW to have multiple wives or husbands in Canada and US. its the law since the 90's. if you are in US or any other country legally then its safe to say that YOU ARE GOVERNED BY THEIR LAW. that's why few Muslim immigrants in Canada and US who might practice polygamy are fretting too much about being caught. Why s the sect leader of peaceful spiritual leader who is full of 'love' in jail? here is a simple answer. it's because HE is in breach of the marriage law in that country. you are bound by the law in which country you are living in. The issue of polygamy doesn't rank as important as global hunger and environmental destruction, but there is a fascinating nascent public debate emerging over it. i am confused as to what's your objective into comparing the dalai to the sect leader, who as to comparison, both differ in religion and way of life.
