albanism (albinos) is the natural lack of pigment in a living creature, causing the stark white on white color, usually with pink eyes, but sometimes rarely, blue. i have found animals in particular with this to be very striking, the siegfried and roy tigers look to be albino, but there is debate over whether or not there is true albino tigers http://www.lairweb.org.nz/tiger/albinos.html what do you think? pretty,or no? have you ever owned an albino pet?

I've owned albino pets - rats & ferrets. I think they are pretty, some people find them a bit scary but I like them. I love all animals and colour doesn't bother me to be honest. I know when I went to get my ferrets from a rescue centre, the lady said she was extremely grateful because albino animals are harder to rehome due to people not liking their colour and especially their eyes. It's sad because these animals need new homes, and just because their colour (or lack of) they shouldn't be held back a new forever home and the chance to be loved!

I have never owned an albino pet. i have seen alot of albino animals though. I think I do remember owning an albino rabbit when I was just a kid though. I have seen an albino deer also. I think some animals look good but others look very weird.

I remember when I was in Australia we saw White Kangaroos and figured maybe they were albino kangaroos. But a zoo tour went by us and were explaining something along the lines that sometimes the sun and stuff actually makes the kangaroos lose their pigment. I thought that sounded more ridiculous than thinking they were albino kangaroos.

Hi scarlet_woman! Oh, that is very interesting! I have seen a few people that are albinos but haven't seen animals who are. I haven't owned any albino pets either but it would be great to have one. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day! :)

I have never owned an albino pet. But when we were children my sister owned one. She had an albino guinea pig. Which she named snowy due to his white fur. He also had pink eyes. I think they are very pretty
