Why we love babies and why we don't

I have a three year-old brother and yes he's the one in my profile. Up until recently, I doted on him as we all do (correct me if I'm wrong :D). I mean, he's really cute, he has such adorable dimples, soft pinch-able cheeks, and unpredictable expressions. I especially like it when he discovers something new and he shows off what he has learned. But as I said, it's just until recently. He has started throwing tantrums and gets really angry when we don't give what he wants. I guess, it's at this stage that my affection for him has decreased. Although, of course, when he looks at me with those teary eyes, I still couldn't help but hug him. :P What's your experience regarding babies?

the more you love someone, i think the easier it is to get angry with them. when my baby is crying and unhappy, as a mother i feel it's my fault, that there's something i've failed to do to make her happy. i think its the frustration of feeling not good enough that gets me angry. and even though shes a baby, i think doesn't she know i'v done all this to make her happy - it's an irrational thought but you still think it initially. plus children know how to be annoying and get your attention! we all still love them though!

That's so true. And I guess I'm partly at fault when he cries. I really miss him now.. huhu

hi hes at the stage where he is growing so fast and having so much input coming at him he gets upset and angry cause he does not understand yet.pretty soon it will make better sense to him and he will not throw tantrums because he will understand better what is going on around him. keep hugging him and he will outgrow the tantrums and be sweet as pie again. also at his age he gets so tired and does not know how to handle it so sometimes just holding him will calm him and he will just fall asleep in your lap.

Hi. Thanks for the advice. Problem is I can't do those things frequently because I don't live with my family. I'll try to do them when I'm with him though. And I think one of the nicest and most relaxing things in the world is cuddling with a baby.

I like babies, but I enjoy older kids much more. I really like the toddler age.

Why do they behave badly? I also love them but I couldn't handle their tantrums. When the time comes though, I'd like to have one of my own.

I've honestly never liked babies. I don't like anything about them and I try to avoid them as much as I possibly can.

All babies are wonderful in my opinion that is. Temper tantrums aren't fun but you need to remember that we all have day were are grumpier than others. Just concentrate on the fact they usually will forget what they're screaming about in a just a few minutes anyway.

Haha! That's true. They forget easily and they are pleased by simple things. :D
