I don't usually watch "T.V' per say, I do watch some things taht are originally television programs though, sometimes on my computer sometimes n an actual tv. But that's a moot and unrelated point for the most part.
I watch far more than two to three hours in general. If I sit down and watch tv, It'll be for a while. Mostly because I have nothing else to do. Later in the evening I usually read a bit but it's either that, t.v or video games. (oh the joys of unemployment)
I've always watched a good deal of t.v though. My parents were never a part of the 'only a half hour a day once your homework is done' club.
I think what's best is what keeps your attention. If you get tired watching something probably best to go do something else, or watch something else. But if you're tired to a point you're hardly awake you should probably do something else, like sleep for instance. If there's nothing on, do something else there's not much point in watching something you're not interested in just for the sake of watching something; Even if it is just to kill half an hour until the Robotech re-runs start. more importantly, if you're not comfortable sitting down for six hours marathoning something, don't do it, just do what you're comfortable with. Only right or wrong that applies is in your head... unless you're watching snuff films or something. ;p

My tv is on all the time but I only watch it a couple of hours a day. I don't think there is a healthy or unhealthy amount of time to watch tv....for adults anyway.
