Or at the very least I need a family that can remember where things go when they are done with them. It's kinda odd because they sure can find things when it is time to get them ot. It's just the putting up that they have trouble with. Oh yeah, and the finding the dirty clothes hamper, and the trash can, and the sink, sigh!

I would like to have a maid too. I understand what you are saying as I swear that my kids and husband do not know that the clothes hampers are for dirty clothes.
Also, I am not sure that they could find the trash can if I were to move it as they can't find it now at times.

Ok the laundry is one place I did manage to lick, but it's tough. I told everyone in the house that the dirty clothes went into the hamper. Clothes placed anywhere else are considered an art project and will not be touched by me. Now it took a little while and a whole, whole lot of teeth nashing on my part, but eventually everyone had to dig in their "art pile" for something to wear to work, or school. They all learned where the hamper was. But, I warn you this path is not for the light hearted!!!

It would still be bad if I stayed a home, but I actually work full time and have a side business. And here's another one for you. If they are not willing to help keep things picked up why do they get so grumpy when the place is trashy???

Can I have a maid too????? Please, Please, Please!!!! Okay to be more serious now. I think you will find out through this discussion that you are no where close to being alone on this subject. In fact I don't think there are many women out there that don't have this problem. I swear I spend a whole day every week just reorganizing my house from where everyone has decided to just put things were ever they feel like.

Ya know I heard of a lady once who kept a huge garbage can in her garage and when she picked up the house she put everything that was out of place into the garbage caan. It was out of her sight and the family knew where to go to find things.

I like that idea. That was one very smart woman if you ask me. I wonder how long it took her family to get tired of having to fetch thier things out of the garbage. LOL!
