I prefer to read book & LISTEN to movies, subtitles suck... LOL. I usually don't get into a book enough to set aside the time to read it so I prefer a well made movie. I do like to read, there's just not enough time in the day.

The same as you,i have no experience to read the Harry Potter Seriers. So i can't contrast them.but i love to watch Harry Potter Movies so much.I love Harry Potter,he is clever and cute, also handsome. The plots are so attractive for me.i prefer to watch that kind movies.the imaginationis are so beyond what you think.I think the Harry Potter Movies's menu is beatuiful and the facture is fine.It is the enjoy to watch the movie. The book is publish before the movie.so some people tend to buy book before the movie.and then watch the movie when that is on.but i think it is expensive to buy the book.I have heard of that the books of Harry Potter Series is as wonderful as the moive.and read book you will have another feeling maybe better than watch.it is the origianl work with no machining.I think i will buy the book one by one,one day.

Usually I tend to read a book first before I even entertain watching the film, but with the harry potter films I watched the films first. They are good films and very entertaining, the books too are really good though. I do prefer to read the book simply because I can read it at my own pace and pick it up and put it down as I please, wheras with the film I have to sit and watch it all and I get fed up really quickly of sitting still!!

I think I'd rather watch the movie version. I like this movie, I think I saw all of the Harry Potter movies. There are things, magical things that I'm not really familiar of. So it would help if I'm going to see it on screen.

I like to read the books and then see the movies. I have seen all of the movies released to date. I have also read all 7 books. If I had to choose one format over the other; no contest I would choose the books. They are much more detailed and I love to read.

Of all the Harry Potter books published, I only got to read one book - "The Prisoner of Azkaban." I think I prefer to just watch the movie because the Harry Potter books are very thick, I just don't have the privilege to read a book with a story that long. Part of the reason would be is that I don't own any of the books, and if I borrow, that would pressure me to read it asap so I could return it on time. When the "Prisoner of Azkaban" movie was shown, I didn't really have a nice time watching it because I often compared the scenarios I've read to the ones I've watched. So, since then, I decided I will just wait for the movies to be released.

I'm very lucky to have noticed the books years ago and bought 1 and 2..started reading them and then went from there..more books and couldn't wait to see the movies..I have all 7 books and movies so far. I prefer the books since there is more detail to them they left out of the movies but still worth it.

yeah, i think this way too, that the books consist real material and thats why they sold more but movies are really made for those people who don't wanted to read all the detailed books and just have some time to see some great moments from the books... Keep posting!!!

Well,I think it depends on the person in question. Do you like reading? Or do you like enjoy more by watching movies? In the case if you are both, you would like to read the harry potter books better than the movies. May be ,I say that because I first read the book, and only then I had watched movies. So,may be the pleasure of the movie is little spoiled. But,I still think that reading is better. Movies are only for 2 hours and thirty minutes. But,reading a book will take atleast 12-15 hours of entertainment. Cheers ! Have a nice day.

I suggest both, but I prefer the books. Coz if you don't read the books you won't understand the movies completely. And sometimes the movies are just not exactly the same as our imagination, so when I first watched HP&Sorcerer's Stone I got a bit disappointed, it didn't fulfill my expectation. The books are way more details and we can understand each character better. And I also find that reading the books is more intense, more interesting and more emotion into it.

i've read all the harry potter books more than 10 times and its nowhere near the movie. the books give u greater details about the place and the characters and have much more humour. the movies have cut out most of it to fit in 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. you wil enjoy reading the books more than watching the movies.

yeah, i do agree with you that movies just cut most of the scenes as it has to fit in less than 2hours thirty minutes,,, and i think its better for those who only wanted to see some fascinating scenes only rather than reading all the time... Keep posting!!!

I am not much of a reader so I have not read any of the Harry Potter books. I have seen alot of his movies though. My husband likes to watch those kinds of movies and we always rent them through Netflix when the new ones come out.

I used to be a fan of Harry Potter books and when i watch the first movie and the succeeding ones, that was quite disappointing. But it was still understandable, they can not put the whole book in a two hour film. But that was before, now i don't really care about Harry Potter anymore.
