Can anyone tell me why my computer runs so slow. It seems like it takes forever for my computer to run. I have tried to get some kind of fix-it tool but they all cost and I don't have the money to buy one. So if anyone knows how to tell me to fix my computer I would be grateful. Thanks

So many reasons. Try cleaning out cookies. Also, if you are on dial up, that takes a long time. Another trick is to unplug your computer, and then replug it. Do your defraging. High internet works the best. Cox is good. Satelite is awful. Dial up is the worst. Good luck.

You might need to clean out your cookies. I have microsoft xp. You go to the start menu; all programs; accessories; system tools; desk clean up. It might take some time, but if you clean this up every week or two, it will help make your computer run faster. What it is doing is cleaning out all your temporary files like everytime you go to a website, it puts it in a temp file.

Is your computer slow in general? Can you give me the specifications of your computer (like processor, memory, etc)? You can also try this free test at http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/default.asp to check what are the problems of your computer.

There are a lot of reasons it could be running slow. Do you run a firewall while you are online? If not, you've probably got spyware on your comp, which can really eat up your resources. Try going someplace like www.download.com and searching for spyware removal programs, there are a lot of very good free ones out there. Other things to try would be cleaning out your temporarily files and removing any programs installed on your computer that you don't use/need. And if you're not running a firewall, get one(ZoneAlarm is free and you can get it at download.com). Hope that helps a little bit.
