today i got a news from my collegue that our chatting history on line was monitored by the commpany.i don't know if you same as me work in an office, but i was sad to hear this news.i think we may have no primary as long as the advanced monitor aids turn up in nowaday.somebody may think it good for the surpervisor to control his employees,to know if they were doing other things in the working time. i really disagree.should we need to work as a machine,is anybody doing other things mean he is not a good employee?

I always think it's ok to take breaks at work. It's not natural to work 8 straight hours without taking a 5 minute break here and there. For some people that break is a phone call, for others it's chatty with a friend, no big deal! As long as you are getting your work done and doing a good job, your boss probably doesn't care about the little breaks you do throughout the day.

it is the news not only now, i have heard about the saME THING in paper. it was mentioned that in some offices the pc of all users, including the top most officials are monitored by network and security team. i think it is invading the privacy. ideally office is meant for office work, but why they should do so?

I think as long as you are completing the work assigned to you in a efficent manner it should not matter what else you choose to do during this time. That's how it is in my office at least. As long as you get your work done and it is accptable then I will allow you to im, email or blog/post during your spare time.
