how to get along with your mother in law

i married last year. my mother in law live with us.both i and my mother in law are easygoing person. but sometimes there are contradictions between us.because of the different concepts.when it happen i choose to be silence.but in my heart i feel distressed.i donnot know how to communicate with her. can you tell me how do you deal with this problem or give me some advise on this.

wow i really don't know what to tell you. i used to get along good with my mother in law. but then i made the mistake of telling her something she didn't want to her about one of her other sons. now we still get along ok, but its not like it used to be. i feel like i'm constantly battling her for my husband. she is always trying to take him away from me and the kids to do stuff for them.
