Do you think the musicians should use the concert stage as a political platform?

I agree that using a musical event to voice personal politics and opinions is rather taking advantage of the situation unfairly. If I were at a symphony concert, for example, and the conductor or soloist suddenly turned to the audience and began a political tirade, I would definitely feel cheated and imposed upon because that would not be what I paid for when I bought my ticket! However, many musicians are overtly political and their audience know this and that is partly why they support them. In those cases, I think it's perfectly valid.

Yes, some are well known for how they vote. And agree, it should be expected. Doesn't seem to bother alot of people if it's done in our own country, but makes one feel vulnerable for it to happen in another country. Wouldn't feel nearly as bad if they said something positive for their politician of choice, rather than bashing the opposing one. Timing seems to play a factor in this also. Thanks for answering.

No I don't as they are on stage to entertain, they can easily lose fans by doing it so they re taking a risk.

My thoughts exactly. I would feel I've wasted my money when they start the politics. Thanks for answering.
