I don't find it surprising.. God was expelled. The forefathers never meant for us to give up our own culture and call it separation of church and state. If this sounds very opinionated, I am sorry.. To me, our society and schools some time ago entered the twilight zone, and for some reason I'm not expecting either to get better any time soon..

You're very right Lakota! By we, I meant the schools (in case it sounded differently) but like you I taught my kids too and though they don't have all the answers (of course) they're basicly happy individuals.. and now my grandaughter too.. I really do think it can make a big difference.

yes, i agree with your opinion. family is the basic source to learn about manner and moral for children cause home is the place where they always back to and spend more times on there. parents should be the responsible party to educate children about norm, manner and moral

This is just outrageous. Problem is there is no discipline at home and the kids are running the show..Now adays you can't tell a child to listen because they don't have to..according to them that is...They know you can't discipline them because they will say it is child abuse..It is crazy what is happening to our teachers...When I was in school..I listened and learned..I never even thought of being disruptive....

I agree..I never spanked my kids because I talked to them about whatever it was that needed to be corrected..but I am not against a spanking if that is what is needed..A swat on the butt never hurt anyone..

I seriously think that suspended is too light a punishment. I don't know about you guys but I think something more was supposed to be done. It's unbeliavable how violent teenagers are getting nowadays. This is like the third or fourth discussion that i've responded to this week that deal with teenage violence. I seriously think this needs to stop now. These students are doing all these awful things and all they are doing is damaging their future. I feel so sad for the teacher and I hope that she is okay and will return to teaching. These kids need serious discipline.

The horror. To have a president that is a savage and doesn't know how to behave. He/she will lead us into the ground.

It is unfortunate that teacher had to deal with such things nowadays. I guess that is why we are so short handed.

I think some of the young people nowadays are turning into a bunch of savages, our local news is full of killings, stealing, rapes and let not forget the kids next to us in Savannah who were planning to attack their teacher because she reprimanded one of their friends. Now all the bleeding hearts are up in arms because our DA wants to prosecute them. I hate to think that they are the future leaders of our country.

Students are different now..they are aggressive and stubborn... they don't listen much.. I read about the news from your post and it seems there was violence on that school..they should do strict disciplinary actions on students at fault. That student that beat up the teacher should be punished. Parents should be aware of their child's actions.in and out of school as well

So the student was suspended, but what else is being done to teach the student a lesson about this? What needs to be put in place besides the polcie presence in schools.
Okay, when I went to school we respected our teachers definitely. But when I went to grade school, they were still paddling the kids for behavior. I don't think I'd want my kids paddled, but I wouldn't mind strict discipline.

they still paddles when my kids went o school and by darn they didnt get one for they knew that they would also get in trouble when they got home. but kids dont have parents controling them any more. theres still the bible saying spare the rod spoil the child and I think it should be in fo rparent to control their kid they should go to school to learn not be smart a$$e$

this is really getting bizarre in the classrooms. Why cannot the teachers control th students instead of the students running all over the teacher. we were not brought up that way.we were taught to obey our teachers and would never have thought to hurt a teacher much as we may not have liked her. the parents are going to have to take someof the blame in that they did not teach their kids to listen to their teachers and obey them. perhaps in some cases these kids do not obey their parents either. that is so sad. For one thing if the kids are slapped and punched at home in order to force them to obey that is the message they will get that its okay to slap or punch someone if they do not agree with them.

no a kid dont need to be punched and slapped at home but a good hand on the butt might work wonders. Ya spank a kid on the bottom and no where else ther eis a differenence in a spanking and a beatting . no way should ya beat a kid but a good wack on the bottom worked for me my kids would never have acted like this is school
kids just get away with to much now a days

okay, I think it is all about the administration of these schools. they have to be rigid and apply some punishments and tough regulation on these "bad" students. We need to concentrate more on scientific issues. our students need to get highly educated. these stuff should be eliminated as soon as possible.
thanks for sharing the link.

Thank you for sharing this link. Teenagers nowaday are getting somewhat "violent" and we can't deny that. I hope the student will realize what he had done and reflect on it.
