This is why we love children.

One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of Chicken Little to the class. She came to the part where Chicken Little warns the farmer. She read, "...and Chicken Little went up to the farmer and said "The sky is falling". The teacher then asked the class, "And what do you think the farmer said?" One little girl raised her hand and said, "I think he said, "Holy Sh@t, a talking chicken!" The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes. When I was 6 months pregnant with my third child, my three year old came into the room when I was preparing to get into the shower. She said "Mommy, you are getting fat!" I replied, "Yes, honey, remember Mommy has a baby growing in her tummy." "I know", she replied, "but whats growing in your butt?" An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into trouble asked him "How do you expect to get into heaven?" The boy thought it over and said "Well I'll run in and out, and in and out and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, "For heavens sake, Dylan, come in or stay out!"

The moral of the story is... That as adults... we have been program to believe any kind of bullsh$t thrown at us. While children are pure and can make a distinction between bullsh$t and reality. They are not restrained by our fictional political correct world. Nor are they restrained by religion. Those were good stories.

I thought they were pretty good too. You are right, children just tell it like it is, no holds barred. It just doesn't occur to them to do anything else. Their honesty has a pureness that adults don't have.

I finally get to laugh tonight! That was so funny. no matter how many times I hear warm, fuzzy stories about things children have said, it makes me laugh! Sometimes I get to laugh during the day at what I hear children saying, as they do not quite understand what it all means yet!

I'm glad that I was able to provide something of humor for you. Children are more brilliant than we give them credit for. I think the shock value of what they have to say is what makes things so funny.

Yes, I agree with that! So many times I wonder what they are thinking about when they say it!

Little kids are so honest and so funny at times I can just imagine the looks on that teacher's face after that little exchange. And of course they will tell you just exactly what they think without any softening whatsoever. lol I love the one about the boy slamming the doors as its so like a little guy.I remember when my son was little and I had been reading him a children's book about a little old lady.Whenmy mom came over to visit he went up to her and said, grandma when are you going to be a little old lady? I thought my mom was going to pee her pants she laughed so hard. My mom always looked younger than she was.

I can think of instances that all of my children were guilty of being brutally honest. But what can you say, they just tell it like it is.

Tooo Cute! I love hearing stories like that! I've got a 2 year old and a 3 year old that are always saying the darndest things! I've got to tell you this one...it is hilarious although a bit graphic. My 3 year old son is not circumsized. Stay with me here...I promise this is funny...He was being really quiet in his room one day so I went to check on him...I snuck around the corner and 'peeked' on him and what I saw was him sitting on the floor buck naked pulling the skin back and forth saying 'now you see it now you don't'... Sorry, that may have not been the most appropriate thing to say on here but I thought that was so funny. Kids are so innocent... A few days ago it was storming really bad and the electricity went out. My 3 year old son walked up to my husband and asked him why the tv wouldn't come on. It was in the middle of the day and I don't guess he noticed we didn't have lights either. After his daddy explained it to him, my son looked at me with the straightest of faces and said, 'well fix it cause it's really freaking me out!' Thank you for sharing your stories and I hope mine have made you laugh as well!

Children can act like they are totally oblivious to whats going on around them and yet they pick up everything that is said.

Some of my favorite stories that I blog about involve my kids and funny things that they say and do! Just the other day this one happened: There was some commercial on talking about "stop being embarrassed by your feet". And my daughter said she was tired of hearing about it. So, feeling silly, I said, "my feet are always embarrassing me, singing silly songs and telling dumb jokes." Dearra rolls her eyes and says, "Mom that's your mouth!"

I shared them for just that reason. We all need something to motivate us to smile once in awhile.
