Having children for certain reasons.........

Ok I am just wondering something here.. The other day I was having a conversation with my cousin and we were talking about having babies.. I only have one child and he's my life.. Sure I would love to have more but just can't.. Anyway as I was talking to her she was telling me how good it was having five children mainly during tax time.. I thought to myself how could she say that? People normally have children for reasons not just for money wise.. Do you find that selfish of her to say that? Or do you think I am over thinking this thought? I mean I do have family that get help from the state and they just keep popping out babies for the simple reason of getting free medical and money to help buy them food.. Do you think that families that are getting help from the state should be limited on how many children they can have? I ask this because these families are having a tough time as it is trying to make a living and living month from month.. What is your oppion on this?

I believe if you can't afford to take care of a child then you probably shouldn't have any..Yes there is help out there, but it is suppose to be for those that can afford children but due to some reason have fallen into a rut..losing job..medical..etc..and need to ask for help..temporary help..having children just to get free medical and food stamps just doesn't make sense..

Hi Feona I have to say I can't agree more with you.. I see people take advantage of this so bad and the funny thing to all this is that the they think what they are doing is all ok... I do see alot of people struggling and need help but are yet told they can't get any help.. Now that makes me wonder not to mention these are the people that end up out on the streets homeless.. Thanks for your reply!

OMG she is not thinking lol, because you might get money back during the taxes but do you think that's gonna cover for the entire year?? I don't think so lol, and I do agree with you that is selfish money shouldn't be the reason to have kids that's not right, I hope your cousin change her mind lol

nope and I agree she isn't... It's free money you know not only she does it but alot of people do it actually but don't talk about it... No she can't have any more children she does have 5 and well that's plenty actually... It's sad to say but people have kids just to have them and than most end up in other places cause they can't take care of them.. It truly is sad if you ask me... Thanks for your reply!

I have said this as a joke but never serious. The tax break is nice but it doesnt help that much. I do think if you are on assistance and keep having kids something needs to be done. But they wont because then you are taking away a persons rights.

Your right it does.. But I wish our government would honestly wake up and smell the coffee and see what they people are doing but that won't happen.. When you think about it what rights do we really have? We don't have freedom of speech... Thanks for your reply!

I only have one child also and she is my life too. I did not want to have children because I knew how hard it would be to raise them. I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world though. I think people should be limited to having so many children if they cannot afford to take care of them themselves.

I know ppl like that. It's like a bonus for seeing how many kids you can have. I was surprised when a friend of mine that is on assistance filed her taxes last year and b/c she has 2 kids and another on the way they got a good chunk of money back. I think there is alot of room for improvement when it comes to assistance and too much room for fraud. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

thats a really tough question to answer but I think in poor families where there does not seem to be any leftover income they should really practice birth control. better to feed the ones you have then to let others feed the ones you have no longer any resources to feed. It is kind of hard to tell people that they can have only x chldren but it would be so wise to instead just use birth control.
