It depends on which route you want to take and what you've got to start out with.
If you allready got a good deal of money you should look deeper in investing it putting it in a bankaccount where you can't take it out the next 10 years and get a whole lot of interest. There's a good shot there.
Get an education if you haven't allready and get a good job. This is off course easier said then done, but also a good way of getting a higher salary to save up and perhaps invest too.
Avoid any extra purchase you can, no extra stuff. Save up everything you earn.
Also, getting a couple of 100 active referrals on mylot will get you along the way ;) Not sure if any of these suggestions will actually get you a million, there's allways a bit of chance and luck you need to have too.

I have 9 referrals at the moment, most of them aren't active on mylot any more.
You can get referrals by trading programms (I'll join yours, you join mine), create a website with a link to mylot explaining why it's such a good program or even spread flyers in your community (in some cases you need to ask permission to do this first).

On the Larry King Show, Larry King asked Donald Trump what he would do if he suddenly had no money. Trump answer was simple: he would start a network marketing business.
In addition, in the book co-written with Robert Kiyosaki "Why We Want You To Be Rich", he deeply explain his reasons and why he strongly recommend network marketing to people who want money works smart and big for them!
You can read an abstract of this at http://www.IncomesUnlimited.com/financial-freedom?networking?

the answer is hard work and sacrifice. Spend all your waking hours in pursuit of money. Pay for nothing. Sleep on someones couch. Don't own anything. Certainly not a car. Don't have a girlfriend or wife or kids, they are expensive! If you saved every dollar you made, and got interest on it, you could become a millionaire quite quickly. I think you would grow tired of eating out of dumpsters and walking everywhere, though. Yes I'm being sarcastic. Money is a tool, it purchases us the creature comforts in life. 5 years is too short. Unless you win the lottery, achieve celebrity status, or go to school and become a neuro surgeon your odds are not good. Millionaires are determined, patient people. They don't drive brand new cars or wear the latest fashions. They understand that generic is the equivalant to name brand. They cut coupons. You are not interested in being a millionaire so much as a lifestyle I think. They don't own credit cards or if they do they pay the balance in full when due, not the minimal payment. In short, they spend less than they earn. And they usually earn quite a bit. Sorry if I'm not more help, but this is the situation I percieve.

Build up multiple streams of income. If you've got $$ don't just park it in the bank as it will only earn you a bare minimum - use it to invest in business. You can start your own business. It's always good to plan. Those who don't plan has already plan to fail. After planning, it's very important to execute it. Even Confucius was not confused when he said the journey of a thousand miles begins with the 1st step. Many start strong but few ever finish. Determination is an essential ingredient.

I remember that my physics teacher used to say that we can be millionaires if we can solve some of the most complicated science problems or may be invent something useful that can win the nobel prize. But all of this is impossible for most of us as we might even have problem solving high school problems.

If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.
If it was so simple and easy to be a millionair in 5 years, why are poeple still working jobs? If it could be done as easy as they say it can be, unemployment offices would shut down due to "no business".
