splitting fingers

My fingers used to split on the top corners of the fingernails. Then I started to realize that when I was eating oranges or drinking orange juice at least once or twice a week, they didn't split. When they did split sometimes they would even bleed, and using my fingers to do anything really hurt. Well, I am trying to lose weight as well as am on a tight budget. So I wanted to check if getting folic acid into my diet with supplements would work just as well, and guess what? It did. I just take one folic acid pill a week and my fingers no longer split. If I forget for more than a week, a small split will remind me. I still have orange juice or oranges once in awhile, but now I am avoiding all that sugar by taking these pills. All the different kinds of lotions never helped. But folic acid was the miracle cure. Don't take more than the recommended amount...it can be dangerous to your heart.

That's good to know. My fingers do that too sometimes. I always noticed that when I peeled oranges and the juice got on my hands it seemed to strengthen my fingernails a little. Makes sense now. Thanks for passing that along!
