Are supermodels too thin?

Don't you think that body image is such a stressful thing for many girls and even guys that there is too much pressure to be like the models and even pressure on the models to be very thin? The pressure does exist and models can not complain because it keeps food on the table but it is ironic because they are unable to eat that food. What do you think about the whole thing and I know it has become the norm to some degree but does it make it right?

I don't understand why it is normal for madels to be so thin though since I find that sort of thin unattractive. I prefer a girl that is healthy over a girl that looks like a stick any day.

My God I have heard too many guys say the exact same thing, you are right and they have shape it seems in their body just looks like skin on bone, very unattractive indeed to say the least. I don't know that many guys who would want a boney girl. I am a girl and I would feel the same if all guys were dropping to be dangerously thin, that would turn me off because I like a guy with a bit of meat on him, otherwise what am I going to cuddle? Bones?

I totally agree and even prefer it if I can sit on a guys legs and not crush him in the process. It is not nice too thin I mean on either side of the fence, guys don't think it is attractive, why that industry thinks it is is beyond me. Not to mention all the damage it is doing to their bodies with the bingeing and other addictions that go on to help them maintain that dangerously low weight. It becomes a sickness and to me that should be addressed. I am sure more men would love to see a real woman's body that functions like a woman up there on the cat walk as I would love to see a bit more mass on some of the male models too, otherwise they are no better than the females up there too.

Exactly, guys want someone that they can cuddle with as well (at least I do). And that someone shouldn't look like they will break in half if you give them a tight squeeze.

NO it don't make it right. For woman we are always thinking how we can improve the way we look. And to see the woman that we compare our selves to is disscusting if you think about it.Im an average sized women but my weight is always on my mind.Everyone tells me I look great but there my family they have to tell you look good right.I think they just need to eat a cheese burger or something.

I think some of them need to eat a decent sized pony at least, I don't meant to joke but like that is how dangerously low they are. I mean there is no muscle, no fat, yes they would definitely need more than a cheeseburger. You are right we should not compare ourselves to these people but what about the young they are so impressionable and so easily influenced by what they see and can not see past reason sometimes either. It is very sad indeed. They definitely feel the pressures and so many young girls are so consumed with the body image that that is all they think about and some obsess about it too to the point where it becomes a problem for them and their family. It can be very heart breaking on that end of the stick too. I didn't mean to use that term then but it is relevant some how because that is what they are being compared to unfortunately.

Yes that what most people are saying and a lot of them are suffering to stay dangerously thin too. Does no one care about the health of these human beings because at the end of the day that is what they are. It is so sad some of them were healthy at one stage but then get into the fashion industry and then boom they begin smoking and doing other bad things too. They find it too hard but like when will their madness end? When they retire? When will they have a decent meal, they earn enough to be able to. Some of them are so thin at a level that has made them unable to get pregnant. Why does an industry strip away what makes a women a woman?
