toy guns: does it really affect a child's psyche?

I am a parent to 3 children below ten years old. I never bought my 2 sons toy guns. The reason: i don't want them growing up to think that it is OK to point guns at other people and also i fear that they might develop a violent streak in their personalities. Do you agree/disagree?
