Up grading to Mac OS 9.0 from 8.6

I'm needing to upgrade to Mac OS 9.0, I have 8.6. Where should I go to get this for free?
I went to Download.com and all they have is 9.0.4 and that didn't work, I tried to install it and update but it wouldn't let choose a place to select for it to go on my computer. any answers for me????
