Purple Hat

There is a poem in which the elderly lady looking back at her life says she wishes she had worn her purple hat more. In other words not bothered about how other people saw her but just got on with her life. This is my idiom now I have turned 50. I have stopped caring how others see me and as long as it hurts no one I will do what I feel like doing. Another one I like is 'Life is too short to drink bad wine' I do not intend to grow old gracefully but to come in sliding all the way. What is your outlook on life?
