The way I learned good English was by reading lots and lots of books and practicing writing in the language.
Start with the easier material i.e., stories for younger children because they usually have easier vocabulary. Regarding vocabulary, buy a dictionary and try to learn as many words as you could in a day. It was a practice I did when I was still in grade school; I tried mastering as much as 20 words a day.
Also, communicate and as much as possible, converse in English. If you're afraid that someone might laugh at you, practice speaking in the confines of your home.
Good luck!

A good way of improving your vocabulary and accent is to read Newspapers/magazines and watch English movies and TV.

I am chinese too and in my experience you really need to read more to imporve your english.
However the most important thing for you to do now is to speak to people as many as possible around you in english and it will definitely help you a lot in this english speaking enviornment.
I agree: practice makes perfect, perfect makes permanent.
good luck to u

I think you should watch English movies and socialise a bit more, because you cannot learn to speak a language unless you communicated using it.

I agree, I learned to speak english by watching movies in english since I was as little as 2 years old and talking alot in English is also a good way, you can also buy an english grammer book in chinese so you can understand english grammer in your own language.

Your English is a lot better than my Chinese. I don't speak Chinese at all.
Here is a test you can take to rate your English skills.

And here is a list of other sites that you can find tests on as well as help to study.
