Been pestered right now to get some sleep. Two deaths in family, so not yet over the flu, voice not getting better, coughing like crazy. Still your told in one sentence to get some rest, then in the next sentence people are looking for you because they need your help with stuff. where is this, what do I do about that. How many people find this happens when your ill and need some rest, medication, no stress. How stressful does it get on your end.

I think we women bring some of that on ourselves as we try to be everything and really cannot so we slough off help when it is offered so finally our family thinks we are the only one who cn do anything in our house. so be very firm.tell them that while you are ill they are going to have to fend for themselves and you just know that they can do that really well. just pile on a bit of mush and it will work.

I know, but don't you wish - people would take on the initiative after seeing things done so much and do it, without being told how to! Thing is - some things like the housework - can go so far, then they run out of dishes, and they are under penalty of a good walloping if they touch the good china, and the cutlery - amazing how its never put away. some things - like the goats, have to be fed, and bottles have to be done, they are items that can't be let go.

Oh my gosh I know just what you mean! Talk about being superwoman...Even when ill, dealing with emotional stuff, household responsibilities, work, kids, school, etc. who has time to take care of one's self? I can't tell you when the last time I painted my toenails, LOL. And I just hate having to tell them to do something, I mean what is so hard in seeing something that needs to be done and doing it? Especially when I need to be out of commission. But I agree Hatley. I know that I myself have refused help, as if my struggling is some type of revenge, haha. That's showing em! But anyway I digress. Especially after such a devastating time and adding illness on top of it, everyone will need to take a backseat. You have to take some time out for yourself to cope and recover, otherwise all that stress and exertion could manifest into something worse.

I think it just feels worse because you are ill and not feeling capable of coping with it all, maybe any other time when you feel well it is easier to cope with everything. I find I dont get chance to relax much even when ill so it tends to take a lot longer to recover.
