Today on 60 Minutes Andy Rooney wanted to know how many fruits could I name. How many fruits can you name? The winner at the CBS office named 27. I wrote down 28, then went to the store and see I am missing fruit. I'm just glad it wasn't any that I have purchased recently. Here is one to help get started.

Wow, Sharon Fruit and I'm still trying to find a good picture. Do you have any information about this fruit? I plan to look in some books tomorrow. Thanks for posting.

Lemonsito very nice sounding fruit and does it help make a person stop itching with insect bites? I would like to grow them, as I think bugs just love me. The atis fruit is called a sweet apple. Does it taste like an apple? Durians up to 10 pounds with spines. Is harvesting them a challenge? Thanks for posting.

Oh gosh I do not know, does berries count as one fruit or do you break them down, like raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, boison berries, etc.
Did you know tomatoes are fruits?

We are breaking down the berries. I'm researching each fruit posted that I have never seen and hope to try some of the fruits in the future. I'm aware tomatoes are fruits, as have an agriculture degree and no plans of giving it back.
I feel learning on Mylot is important. I'm aware many people really need the money to make ends meet; however, I use the money for my daughter to attend college. I want to learn while she is learning. Thanks for the reply.

I was trying to think of as many fruits as I possibly think of. That led my mind to think about the produce aisle in the grocery store. These are all of the fruits I could think of: blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, boysenberry, papaya, strawberry, Granny Smith Apple, pear, pineapple, peach, plum, orange, banana, tomato, green grapes, purple grapes, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, mango, and Red Delicious apples. Thinking of fruit got me hungry for them.

Thank you for the reply and the discussion made me hungry also. I didn't think of a couple on your list. Papaya is one of the fruits I have never purchased.

Okay here is my list in no particular order except for the order in which they sprang from my brain. It started to get hard around number twentyfive or so. It helps being from California though, I had a good eight or nine that grew in the house we lived in.
So with no further ado, here is my list:
1. Apple
2. Orange
3. Peach
4. Pear
5. Plum
6. Grapes
7. Grapefruit
8. Watermelon
9. Honeydoo
10. Rhubarb
12. Cumquat
13. Pommagranite
14. Strawberry
15. Blueberry
16. Raspberry
17. Blackberry

19. Lime
20. Persimmon
21. Bananna
22. Mango
23. Passionfruit
24. Cherry
25. Nectarine
26. Pineapple
27. Coconut
28. Tomato (technically a fruit, not a vegetable)

30. Durian
31. Cranberry
Boy that was tough.

I found making my list at night was a mistake as by morning there were several easier ones missing. I live in California and left off crops grown in Southern California. Now I'm sure it will be easier to come up with different dishes to eat with fruit. Thanks for the reply.

The Acai Berry sounds like a great fruit that I should start eating. Mangosteen I discovered is a superfruit very interesting. Others on your list I didn't think of were the date, fig, casaba, kiwi and guava. Thanks for posting many fruits for me to look up for more information.

banana, orange, apple, pineapple, grape, mango, peach, pear, tangerine, clementine, tangelo, kiwi, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, boysenberry, plum, cantalope, watermelon, honeydew. Well, this was kind of fun, especially for late at night.

I started with the berries also and discovered there are a lot of them. One berry I rarely hear people discuss is the Huckleberry, which is grown in Oregon where I use to live. They were always bitter and small. Thanks for the reply and your the second person to name kiwi. I sure won't forget it again.

Thanks for naming some fruits that I have never heard before now. I have never heard of waxberries, loquats, ineapple and lichee. Anymore information about them would be great. Are they sweet, sour or a little of both of them? How are they grown?
