You never thought it would happen in your community, but you know that a convicted pedophile has just moved in to the area. You don't know the name, you don't know the street, the police will not divulge that information. The pedophile's right are being protected, but not your's or your children's. what would you do? lobby, protest, keep your children inside, move etc, or maybe you would do nothing at all? I don't know what I would do but as a parent it scares the hell out of me sometimes. what are your opinions?

I would be so mad about that. We have the right to know about these types of people. I think I would get a petition going or something to see what we could have done about the situation. I would possibly move if I could. It is not that easy to do when you own your own home though. I would want that person to move to another location. We were here before they were.

As poor as I have been all my life, if I still had to raise a child I would get out of dodge fast. I was even leery of having my son sleep over at other people's house, fortunate for me, he like to bring his friends home and they slept at my place.

I don't know what I would do, and the situation would never come up in my area, because we have a law here that says Pedophiles must register where they are living, and that is published to the whole community. There are even websites that you can check to see where pedophiles are living in your area, so you don't unwittingly move next door to one.
