I like reading GOOD historical fiction. But it has to be well-researched. I don't want a story that just happens to be stuck in a historical error. It has to show the author did some work on getting the time period right. I really like it when they include an author's note explaining where they took liberties with history. I don't mind that, for the sake of the story, provided there is an explanation.

I am glad to see that you have an interest in historical novels.
My wife works in th local library and tlls me that interest in this sort of literature has waned over the last fw years.
I find that difficult to understand with the popularity of films like Braveheart.
Maybe it's just easier for people to go along and see a film?
I would appreciate your opinion on my historical novel hich is based on the adventures of some of my ancestors in 14th century England.
