Have you ever sold your jewelry?

My partner and I have been thinking about selling some of our gold jewelry. We know it's quality and have a certain price in mind we want to get for it. The thing we are unsure of is what type of establishment we should go to.
I have searched online and there is a business that wants people to send them their jewelry and then they will decide how much it is worth to them and mail out a check. Um...no thanks!!!! I just don't trust this method.
Then there are pawn shops. I have never pawned anything, but I don't think they give people what their stuff is worth. I actually don't know.
Thought about eBay, but there is similar jewelry for sale there and it is not selling. Be a waste of seller's fees if it doesn't sell. Then there is Craigslist. I may try this method. There are also jewelry stores that buy gold. May try this first.
Have you ever pawned something at a pawn shop? Do you think you got a good payout for your stuff?
Thank you in advance for your responses.
PEACE

I think my son would use EBAY, to try to sell it directly to customers! I have used pawnshops, but I think that is best if you inly want a loan, so you can try to get your jewelry back! We had to do that with my high school ring, and did not buy it back!

eBay charges it's sellers way too much money for the privilege. I have seen similar, if not the exact gold necklace for sale on eBay and it is not selling at the price the seller has it listed, which is under it's worth! I cannot afford to list it, pay the listing fees and NOT sell it!
Pawn shops are definitely crossed off my list.
Thanks.

I would try a jewelry store first. They will often offer you the best price. You should get a decent amount of money since the price of gold is up.
