china promote "no-free plastic bag"

From June 1 supermarkets and shops will be forbideen to hand out free plastic bags in Chian.
It will encourage people to return to carrying cloth bags and baskets.
It will raise people's awareness of the need to protect the environment .
Hopefull,it will also encourage people to adopt a greener and healthier lifestyle.

I believe it is a very sensible rule.
It can not only save some money most importantly it is good for our environment.
But I'm also doubt whether it can be carried out efficiently because plastic bag is very convenient without question.I hope we can all resist the temptation of the plastic bag

I think that is a very proactive outlook being taken by China, I hope people use it to reduce clutter and improve the world we share. Tho it would suck to have to pay for every bag some places have put limits on the ammount of bags given out etc they might want to implement that all around the world.

i think so.
everyday we waste a lot of things like paper,glasses,water and so on.
It is time for chinese people raise the awareness of improving the environment.

i hear about this news before, i think this is a good decision for control the consumption of plastic bag, but this is can not solve the main problems about the environment.
and the government should pay more attentions to raise people's awreness.

Beijing 2008 Olympic games is going to be the most successful one over the years. Ang the Chinese government has promise to hold a green Olympic in 2008. And we are living up to our promise!
