hello checapricorn, i sure love Christmas too for the same reason gifts, gifts, gifts and more gifts LOL! kidding aside, like you i love the atmosphere during this time specially if there is a snow :) i love the fact that family get together and shared moments with each other. kids are out and having fun with santa at the mall. grandparents having the opportunity to be with their grand kids and so much more. also, i love the songs during this time of the year. my mom-in-law's birthday is 24th so we do travel to her hometown and spend time with her and other family members. ok, im guilty for loving the LONG trips visiting family during this time of the year. just sad that my family is far from me but hoping they will be here next christmas though. im really excited haha! takecare!

I would say, it's Christmas time, where everyone else spread the good cheers and seems to allow good values around their lives. Somehow, the world is like better on Christmas that we celebrate love and happy moments. Cheers! May everyday be spent like Christmas time!

Christmas! - Emote decorating a tree
Christmas! lol yes, I got straight to the point there. Why? It's such a joyful time of the year. You would think everyone would share the joy though, but I have encountered people who are like the Grinch. (before he realised he loved Christmas!) I love Christmas baking. OMG, I go wild in this area...making cakes, cookies and last year I made Rum Truffles for the first time. I can't wait for Christmas this year to make them again! Of course I can make them during the year but I want it to become a tradition. I love decorating too. There is always something new to see every year. It's just a fun time over all and gifts, well I don;t make a big deal of gifts, but I do get gifts for my dogs too!

Hi Pam, Maybe I should reconstruct the way I said that. I don;t really wait till Christmas to do all my baking but there are certain treats I wait till Christmas to make, simply for starting a tradition or just because it's lots of work! lol Plus it makes it more special. I do regularly bake muffins and cakes during the year. I like the Rudolph day idea. It does sound fun! But sometimes we can't always put aside the day when life gets hectic huh? But I guess it can vary for each month till it really is Christmas!

The Chinese New Year is my favorite holiday. As we will have a week days off work. And everything seems to slow down and people enjoy the time to have a good rest and stay with their families. And we will have nice food everyday in this holiday. It is one of the most important holiday here and everybody feels happy during this festival.

I like most of the holidays. It gives people a chance to pause and look around at the special things in life. And the people to be cherished. My favorite holiday is Halloween! It is the one time of year when a person can cut loose. To be creative and make themselves something or someone else for a few hours. Halloween 2007 my daughter really got into it. she was 4. And she made the cutest Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Halloween can be a stress relieving event. And you get good cardio.

I enjoy all holidays. My favorite is Christmas also. I like buying gifts for my family. I enjoy seeing their faces when they get something they wanted. Its when all the family gets together and has a good time. This is probably the only holiday everyone decorates for. Its also the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

I love christmas and summer because they feel like real holidays. At summer time there is less traffic to contend with as children are out of school. I also get to spend more time with my nephew, play games like cricket, tennis etc... Christmas just brings with it this nice tranquil feeling and of course gifts, family, friends and lots of food and fun. (lol)

My favorite holiday is Halloween and it has been since I was a little girl. When I was really little, it was more about dressing up (always as a witch) and going to strange houses for candy. Perhaps it was the thrill of not knowing what chocolate-y goodness I was going to get. I've, also, be a huge fan of horror. Blood, guts, gore, etc. I love horror movies so it seemed only natural for my favorite to be Halloween. Even today I love Halloween though I can't exactly get away with going trick-or-treating. I can still enjoy other children's costumes and their excitement to get candy.

I am really looking forward to witness that celebration here, since in our place, simple town where i grew up, this is not really a big event! maybe because we just can't afford to buy dresses or anything else, plus no one can afford to provide all the kids with chocolates..hahahha..that is something very expensive in my place, not unless we will just consider the crap taste chocolate there!

Thats what I love also about Christmas, the exchanging gifts part! Its very funny especially if some of the members of the family will be giving some tricks or will tease their"manita" or"manito"! Then, its really worth to just wake up for the entire night!hearing all the different fireworks and the countdown!

I find Christmas very meaningful and symbolic to me-the son of God who grew up amongst men, did miracles of healing and taught like a professor to change the course and the cause of life on earth was born-he selflessly gave himself on the cross to die for me. His birth at chrismas is so special to me!

At the moment it seems to be Halloween as my son LOVES dressing up and I like taking him around the neighborhood for trick or treating. I do miss Christmas get togethers but because we live so far away from family, it's not as joyous as it use to be :)

I agree...when we are far from all our loved ones, Christmas is just incomplete and I know the feeling. at least this time we are more high tech, we can call or chat them or even use web cam to see them like they are just around!

When I was still working (I just resigned 3 months ago) there was no particular Holiday I considered my favorite but whatever it was that would let me have a vacation or rest day would be fine. But right now, it doesn't apply to me since I have all the rest days by just staying home.
