Here in Pensacola we have a movie theatre that only charges $.50 on Tuesdays and a dollar every other day to view a movie! Tomorrow I am going to see "The Bucket List". I think that's a great price for a movie. The theatre is old, but fairluy comfortable and the screen has a few hioles in it, but hey, for a buck, that's quite a bang!

we used to have a cheapie theatre that played new movies about 3 weeks later than everyone else but only charged $3.50 a ticket...they ripped it out though sadly and turned it into a parking lot.
Occasionally in the summer we'll go to the drive-in where they charge $10 a car load to watch 3-4 movies - it is a good hour and a half drive from our house though!!
It has been a really long time since i went to a theatre to see a movie - it is something like $9 now!!!

You are SO LUCKY!!!
I miss the dollar movies we had here. They tore it down and made a shopping center We use to go to the movies every weekend and I miss that so much.
I mean $3 for our family to get in and we use to bring popcorn and drink from home (snuck it in with my big purse. lol)
I know it was wrong, but sometimes we would buy from them, but when the funds were not there, we would bring our own.

We always sneak our drinks and food in. It's way to expensive to buy the food there. they would have more people buying food and drink from them if they would only lower the darn costs. It's $6.50 for a large popcorn and $5.00 for a drink, that's just way too much!

We used to have one but it closed down. I used to love to go to it. Yeah the movies were not new releases but it was so cheap and still good movies. Now i gotta pay an arm and a leg to go to a movie.

That sounds nice! There's a theatre about 40 minutes away from here that charges $2 for movies. After movies have been played at the regular theatre (that charges about $8/person), some of them go over to the older theatre and run for $2 for a while. I'd much rather wait and see it at the older theatre!!

I agree that is really a good deal. My hubby and I watch movie almost every weekend and we spend 7$ each. And to think that the ones we watch are not really new, I mean those movies that are in the theather for almost 6 weeks already.

Wow!! Must be nice to live in an area where you can still see Movies for cheap. We usually wait until a movie comes out on DVD and then rent it, and buy it when it gets cheaper. We have a place where you can rent Movies for $1. But Bucket List is an excellent movie. I Love it, and if you like Jack Nicholson you should enjoy it as well.

We used to have two of them. One is totally shut down, but the other is now $3 for a movie at night. And then I think it's $2 for movies before 4 p.m. Plus the snacks are so cheap! I love taking my kid there. The two of us can see a movie and have each a drink and a huge popcorn for just over $10. I can't get out of there in less than $25-30 in a regular theater for just the two of us.

So lucky. All the theatres here are expensive. One ticket can cost 10 bucks. It's standard everywhere in my country. How I wish I could catch new movies for that cheap amount of money. I just want to watch the movie, don't really care about the environment.

I don't think it's exactly a "dollar" theater, but I have a movie theater that plays new movies after the go out of regular movie theaters in my town. I think they charge $2 or $3 plus that price includes a free refreshment. It's definately better than the $10 tickets at regular theaters. xD

No, but I wish we did. Seeing a movie on the big screen is a lot more fun than sitting at home watching it. Hey, I'd even spend a little more and buy popcorn with the movie. What do they charge for popcorn? I think it would be really great if the popcorn was only a buck too - or is that just wishful thinking?

There's an 8-theater complex where I live that charges $1.50 most days and 75 cents on Tuesday. It's gone through a couple of ownership changes, but it outlasted a couple of older theaters which had offered dollar movies. Almost all of the small theaters (6 screens or less) where I live went out of business when the larger multiplexes opened.

I don't know of any "dollar" movie theater in El Paso, Texas, where I currently live, but I do know one that was in Marietta, Georgia. I remember going there with my step-dad. He use to take me and my younger brothers there all the time. I mean it was so cheap it made it easy for us to enjoy a movie. I remember always bringing my big purse with me. I would fill it up with coke cans and candy so that way we wouldn't have to worry about paying for the expensive snacks there. I'm not sure if this theater is still open, but it was great to be able to see a movie so inexpensively.
